Samsung Galaxy Watch vs Fitbit Versa 2 vs Apple Watch 5: Which is Better?
DESIGN:Although all three watches look outstanding with remarkable designs befitting of premium smartwatches. However, the Apple Watch Series 5 has the most sophisticated design. Its aluminum case with ceramic crystal back makes it incredibly lightweight just like the Versa 2, but it weighs a little less than the Versa 2. On the other hand the Galaxy watch is quite bulky and heavy, but has a classic appearance just like the traditional watch.
Moreover, the Apple watch 5 with the biggest display size allows you to see more at a glance compared to the other two, and its digital crown with hepatic-feedback mechanism that offers a click-like feel as you scroll makes it a lot easier to navigate, just like the Galaxy watch with a physical rotating bezel.
CONNECTIVITY: The Versa 2 lacks inbuilt GPS which is present on the other two devices, and as such only works with connected GPS on your phone. This can be inconvenient especially while working out. But if you’re into indoor exercise, then it won’t matter much. This off course makes the Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch better choices for tracking outdoor activities.
Memory:All three watches come with onboard storage capacity that allow you take your music with you. However, the Watch 5 comes with a massive 32GB storage capacity allow you take a lot more of your favorite tracks. It gives you access to the entire Apple music library which is awesome.
CELLULAR CONNECTIVITY:Both the Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch (stainless steel version) comes with e-SIM which supports cellular connectivity, making these two standalone smartwatches which allow you make and receive calls directly from your watch. A great way to stay connected even when your phone is out of reach.
MEDIA:Microphone is inbuilt on the Versa 2, Galaxy Watch and Watch 5 which supports Alexa, Bixby and Siri voice assistant feature respectively. However, the Versa 2 lacks loudspeaker which is present on the other two. This allow you play media files anywhere, as well as adding more productivity to the voice assistant feature.
FITNESS TRACKING:All three watches are fitness-focused and well equipped to track your active life. However, the Watch 5 with more advance fitness tracking features is the most comprehensive activity tracker.
The Watch 5 features incidental fall detections and international emergency calling that allows you call emergency contacts in almost any country of the world, while also featuring ECG tracking and menstrual tracking that aren’t present on the Galaxy Watch nor Versa 2, excluding menstrual cycling logging which is featured on the Versa 2.
BATTERY LIFE: The Versa 2 tested to last up to 5 days has the longest battery life compared to the Galaxy Watch with about 2 days or more battery life, while the Watch 5 has the lowest battery life of about 18hrs which is abysmal and not impressive.
VERDICT:The Apple Watch 5 with the most sophisticated design and the most comprehensive activity features is the best choice. It’s the best choice for iPhone users as its only compatible with iOS devices.
On the flip side, the Samsung Galaxy Watch is a more comprehensive smartwatch than the Versa 2, and that makes it a better watch.
However, the lower-price Versa 2 is a comprehensive activity tracker with the longest battery life.
