Huawei has just rolled out a pretty exciting update, and if you’re a fitness or health enthusiast, this one’s definitely worth your attention. After some time in beta testing, the company has officially enabled Heart Rate Variability tracking on the recently released Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro.
The Fit 4 Pro, which was recently released alongside the Fit 4, welcomed heart rate variability tracking, which the Fit 3 lacked. However, before this update, there was no standalone Heart Rate Variability measurement.
Now, with this new firmware update, which has a version number of 5.1.0.118 and a file size of 49.2MB, Huawei has now added Heart rate variability to the heart rate app on the watch.
The changelog says, “The Heart Rate app now includes heart rate variability data, measurement animations, and detailed training and recovery heart rate recordings from daily workouts. The user interface has been enhanced with more content for an improved user experience”.
As a result, you can now measure your heart rate variability directly from the Fit 4 Pro. From the heart rate app, you’ll see both your Heart Rate Variability range and daily averages displayed alongside your regular heart rate data.
Moreover, you can also see your heart rate variability in the Huawei Health app. A Fit 4 Pro owner who has installed this update claims it works perfectly well.
The interesting thing about this update is how Huawei is making the data more meaningful. The changelog mentions new animations and recovery insights post-workout, which adds a bit more context to your Heart rate variability readings. Instead of getting lost in complex graphs and charts, you get digestible visuals that help you understand how your body is responding to different activities.
Besides Heart Rate Variability tracking, the changelog also states that this update brings improvements to system stability and a more refined user interface.
To download the update, Make sure Bluetooth is turned on your phone, and also ensure the Huawei Health app is fully updated. Then make sure the watch is charged to at least 20% before starting the update. The update should download and install automatically. When it’s done, your watch will restart on its own, and the whole process usually takes just a few minutes.
Heart Rate Variability is one of those metrics that gives you a deeper insight into your overall well-being. It’s not just about how fast your heart is beating — it’s about the little variations between each heartbeat, which can tell you a lot about your stress levels, recovery, and even sleep quality. And now, Huawei users can track all that right from their wrists.
This latest firmware is another step forward in Huawei’s mission to make wearable tech more insightful and user-friendly. By adding Heart Rate Variability tracking and presenting it in a way that’s both intuitive and informative, they’re giving users more tools to take control of their health.
Huawei is rolling out this update in phases, region by region. So if you have not received it yet, don’t worry, it will arrive soon.
