Garmin Fenix 7S Specifications and Features – The Fenix 7S is one of the models in the Fenix 7 series, and it succeeds the Fenix 6S. The Fenix 7S shares a lot of similarities with its predecessor, it is fitness-focused, built with premium materials, has a long battery life, and features a massive 16GB storage capacity for offline music. It however comes with new features such as downloadable maps, a longer battery life, touchscreen display, Cross Country Ski maps, more sports modes, health snapshot, and HIIT workouts.

Similarly, the Fenix 7 comes in three models. Only the Fenix 7X comes in two models; Fenix 7X Solar and Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar.

Features New to the Fenix 7 Series

  1. Every model in the Fenix 7 series has a touch-sensitive display unlike their respective predecessor.
  2. User interface has been revamped to a great extent.
  3. Fenix 7X units feature a flashlight that suports SOS mode, strobe mode, and running white/red mode.
  4. Although a limited version, the Garmin Connect app is now available on-wrist in all models.
  5. Heart rate sensor have been optimized on all models.
  6. Health Snapshot that lets you log a 2 minute session of your heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration, blood oxygen and stress is now available in all models. This feature has been added to the Fenix 6 series.
  7. Free downloadable TopoActive maps is available in all models. Only Sapphire models come with preloaded Topo maps.
  8. Free downloadable road/trail maps are also available. Only the Sapphire models come with preloaded road/trail maps.
  9. Preloaded Ski and Golf maps are also available in all Fenix 7 series models. Moreover, SkiView now contain slope and resort names.
  10. Added Cross Country Ski Trails to maps.
  11. Added RealTime Stamina – A feature that is used during runs and rides.
  12. Added the ability to configure activity profiles and data fields from your phone.
  13. Added a new Sleep Manager Settings that lets you customize what the device does while you sleep.
  14. Added automatic graphing for run/walk/stand during a workout.
  15. There is now a map manager app that lets you manage and download maps directly from your wrist.
  16. Added Race predictor in all the models.
  17. Multi-band satellite positioning is available in only Sapphire Solar models.

  19. HIIT has been added to the list of available gym activity profiles.
  20. Each model in the Fenix 7 series has a longer battery life that its Fenix 6 series predecessor.

Garmin Fenix 7S Design – Durable and rugged

The Fenix 6S is the smallest model in the Fenix 7 series in terms of size. All its three models come in a 42mm case size which is very compact and lightweight. Although, it is slightly thick at 14.1mm. The case is made of the regular fiber-reinforced polymer with a metal rear cover, while the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The straps come in silicone materials and its also considerably lightweight at 63g (including case). It is rated 10ATM which represents 100 meters waterproof rating.

Garmin Fenix 7S Display – Bright and easy to read

The 1.2 inches display of the Fenix 7S is powered by the regular transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) technology which is quite colorful at 240 x 240 pixels, and also bright enough to read even under sunlight. For the first time in Fenix history, the display is touch-sensitive. This is in addition to 5 physical buttons that no doubt make it really easy to interact with the watch.

Garmin Fenix 7S Activity Tracking Features – A comprehensive fitness tracker

Although the Fenix 7S lacks ECG tracking, it is fully equipped with loads of fitness tracking features that make it one of the best fitness smartwatches on the market. It is a premium multisport GPS smartwatch that comes with a heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, inbuilt GPS, barometric altimeter, and a thermometer. As a result, it will track your heart rate, sleep, calories, blood oxygen, floors, elevation, locations, routes and many more.

All the models in the Fenix 7 series come with free downloadable maps. The Sapphire models come with preloaded maps. You also get new additions like the Health snapshot and HIIT workouts.

Garmin Fenix 7S Storage

The Fenix 7S and 7S Solar models come with a 16GB storage capacity that lets you store music on the watch. Supported services include Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer. You can download your playlists to the watch which you can listen to offline via a Bluetooth headphone.

In terms of managing notifications, the Fenix 7S will allow see SMS, calls, Whatsapp, Gmail, Facebook and other notifications you receive on your phone when it’s nearby. You also have the option to respond to notifications via preset quick replies (android only).

Garmin Fenix 7S Battery Life – 11 Days long battery life

The battery life of the Fenix 7S is longer than that of its predecessor. You can expect a long battery life of up to 11 days, 14 days with the Solar model. If battery saver mode is activated, its about 38 days and 87 days with the Solar model.
